ACTION PROFILE |
|---|
4x4 Action started in 2003 by Bobbie Kincaid. It was all about ‘‘by the 4x4er for the 4x4er, no reporters or journalists just the individuals with their opinions and their views on adventures they have partaken in" . It was mainly Club stories and events submitted to the magazine by the genuine 4x4 enthusiasts that made up the magazine. In 2008 it began being published by Maintain Traction Ltd. In early 2010 the magazine was acquired by 4x4 Action Ltd, who is the current publisher. 2010 also saw 4x4 Action become part of the Magazine Publishers Association (MPA) of New Zealand. A new ownership has meant a new editorial direction. 4x4 Action is dedicated to bringing you up to the minute competition coverage, as well as new sections; exclusive International news, product and new vehicle evaluations, competitive 4x4 columnists as well as specialist tech articles. Our readers who are keen to share their 4x4 adventures and experiences with the 4x4 community of New Zealand supply additional content. 4x4 Action also recognises the increased numbers of kids involved in 4x4, thanks to the growing trend of family 4x4 recreational use. We have joined forces with the Department of Conservation (DOC) for our Kids section cartoon hero trucks, "Little Mu" and "Suki Suzuki". Each month they work with DOC to help preserve New Zealand's precious ecosystems and spectacular scenery. Because as much as we like to rip parts of it up, we are serious about keeping New Zealand beautiful. 4x4 Action is a full colour glossy magazine, published monthly. Distributed through Gordon & Gotch to an ever-increasing number of supermarkets, bookshops, specialist trade outlets, dairies and petrol stations throughout New Zealand. Subscription distribution is through Avalon. OUR ACTION CONTRIBUTORSGail Osman Bryan Chang John Jenkins (JJ) Darin Neely Mark Baker Peter Hughes |
